Overview
Social Season Club (“SSC,” “we,” “us,” or “the App”) helps people discover events, RSVP with friends, and host social meetups in their city. This policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, the third parties we share it with, and the rights you have over your data.
Social Season Club is published by Jose Negrete (sole proprietor, based in Dallas, Texas). You can reach us at fuegaux@gmail.com.
Information We Collect
When you create an account and use the App, we collect the following:
- Account email and phone — used to authenticate your account and send service-related messages and OTP codes.
- Profile information — display name, profile photo, bio, interests, and vibe tags you choose to provide during onboarding.
- Social graph — friendships you create inside the App (requested, accepted, blocked).
- Events you submit or host — event titles, descriptions, venues, dates, times, cover images, and any flyers you upload.
- RSVPs and activity — which events you’ve RSVPed to, checked into, hosted, or marked as interested.
- Event reports — flags you submit about events that appear inaccurate, duplicative, or otherwise inappropriate.
- Photos and media — your avatar and any images you upload when submitting events, including flyer scans.
- Approximate and precise location — when you grant iOS permission, your device location is used to surface events within the 25-mile radius around you, to show your position on the map, and to power “near you” features. Location is used during your session and is not stored beyond it, unless you are a Founding Member with “See events outside my area” enabled. You can revoke location access at any time in iOS Settings.
- Device identifier for push — an Apple-issued push token used to deliver notifications. We do not collect your advertising identifier (IDFA).
- Subscription status — if you join the Club, we store your subscription status (active, expired, cancelled) so the App can unlock member features. Payment is processed by Apple; we never see your card number.
- Crash and performance telemetry — when the App crashes or hits a critical error, anonymized crash reports are sent to our error-monitoring provider so we can fix bugs.
- Anonymous usage analytics — anonymized product analytics (which screens are used, which features are tapped) help us decide what to build. We do not link analytics events to your identity outside the App.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information above to operate the App: to authenticate you, display events to the community, process reports, personalize the “Near You” view, deliver push notifications you’ve opted into, gate member-only features, surface friend activity, recommend events you might like, and respond to support requests.
Social Season Club does not sell your personal data, and does not use your data for advertising or third-party profiling.
AI Flyer Scanning
When you submit an event by uploading a flyer or screenshot, the image is transmitted to Anthropic’s Claude API so the App can read the event details (title, date, venue, description) and pre-fill the submission form. Anthropic processes the image for this purpose only and does not retain it. The extracted text is returned to the App and, if you save the event, stored on our servers. By using flyer scanning you acknowledge the image is sent to a third-party AI provider. See Anthropic’s privacy policy at anthropic.com/privacy.
Third-Party Processors
We rely on a small number of service providers to run the App. They process data on our behalf and only for the purposes described here.
- Supabase — provides our authentication, database, and file storage. Your account, profile, friendships, event submissions, RSVPs, reports, and uploaded images are stored on Supabase infrastructure. See supabase.com/privacy.
- Anthropic — processes flyer and screenshot images for the AI scanning feature described above. See anthropic.com/privacy.
- Google Places — when you view the map or search for a venue, the venue name and your approximate coordinates are sent to Google’s Places API to return matching locations. See policies.google.com/privacy.
- Mapbox — renders the map tiles inside the App. Mapbox sees coarse location and map-tile requests. See mapbox.com/legal/privacy.
- RevenueCat & Apple In-App Purchase — verify and manage Club subscriptions. Payment is handled by Apple under its own privacy terms; RevenueCat stores an anonymized subscription record keyed to a user identifier. See revenuecat.com/privacy and apple.com/legal/privacy.
- Apple Push Notification Service — delivers push notifications to your device. See apple.com/legal/privacy.
- Sentry — receives anonymized crash and error reports from the App. See sentry.io/privacy.
- PostHog — receives anonymized product-analytics events (e.g. “user opened map tab”). We do not include personal identifiers in these events. See posthog.com/privacy.
- Google Sign-In and Apple Sign-In — if you choose to log in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address as provided by those services. See policies.google.com/privacy and apple.com/legal/privacy.
What Other Users Can See
Social Season Club is a social product. By design, certain information you provide is visible to other people inside the App:
- Your display name, profile photo, bio, and interests are visible to other Social Season Club members who view your profile.
- Your RSVP status (going / interested) on a public event is visible to the host and to other attendees. You can RSVP anonymously where the host has enabled that option.
- Events you host are visible to members within the event’s discovery radius, and to anyone with the event share link.
- Your Club badge, if you are a member, is shown on your profile.
Your exact location, email, and phone number are never shown to other users.
Data Retention
We keep your account, profile, RSVPs, friendships, and submitted events for as long as your account is active. Event reports are retained as part of the moderation record. When you delete your account, your profile and the events you submitted are removed from our production systems within 30 days. Backup copies may persist for an additional period before being overwritten in the ordinary course of backup rotation. Subscription records held by RevenueCat and Apple are retained according to those providers’ policies.
Your Rights
You can review and edit your profile, submitted events, RSVPs, and uploaded photos from inside the App at any time. You can delete your account from Settings → Account → Delete Account, which permanently removes your profile and associated content as described in “Data Retention” above. You may also email fuegaux@gmail.com to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data. You can revoke location and push permissions at any time in iOS Settings → Social Season Club.
California (CCPA) and Other State Rights
If you are a resident of California, Texas, Colorado, Virginia, or another state with a comprehensive consumer privacy law, you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you, and to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal information and we do not share for cross-context advertising. To exercise these rights, email us at fuegaux@gmail.com.
Children’s Privacy
Social Season Club is rated 17+ and is not intended for anyone under the age of 17. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 17. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Data in transit between the App and our servers is encrypted with TLS. Data at rest on Supabase is encrypted at the storage layer. We use Row Level Security to ensure users can only read and write their own data. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will also be announced inside the App.
