What’s happening in Dallas tonight
The Tonight feed refreshes every afternoon at 4 p.m. Central. What lands in it is whatever our curator would tell a friend who texted “plans?” at rush hour — not a database dump. A typical Tonight looks like this:
- A live-music room in Deep Ellum where the sound is right and the door isn’t a line. Trees, RBC, The Nines — one of them, most Thursdays.
- A Bishop Arts or Lower Greenville dinner-then-drinks that finishes the night without a second Uber. Small rooms, real menus.
- A patio or rooftop — Uptown or Design District, seasonal — for the nights the city gives you the weather anyway.
Each card in the app shows the venue, the start window, the price of admission (or that it’s free), and — the part every other app hides — which of your friends are already going. Not a “3 mutual friends” tease you have to pay to unlock. The list. Free tier. Always.
How we curate
There are two kinds of Dallas event apps. There’s the firehose kind — Eventbrite, Dallasites101, the Do214 archive — where every gallery opening, MLM mixer, and yoga-brunch pop-up sits at the same table as a real Thursday show. And there’s the curated kind — us. The internet gave you forty stories today. We give you three.
The bar for a Tonight pick is short: would our curator go? If the answer is no, it doesn’t ship. That’s why you’ll see a Katy Trail wine bar and a Deep Ellum speakeasy in the same week, and why you’ll never see a “senior professionals happy hour Tuesday” pushed at 27–35s who didn’t ask for it. If you’ve ever opened Meetup and closed it in under a minute, you already know what we’re trying not to be.
RSVP with the friends who already know you
Every plan in SSC has a friend graph attached. You’ll see, before you RSVP, which of your people are already going and which friend-of-a-friend is on the list. This is what Meetup lost when it started paywalling the attendee list — and it’s what Partiful never had, because Partiful is for parties your friends throw, not for the city. Ours is both.
We ask for contacts only after your first RSVP, hash them on your phone before they leave the device, and never send names or numbers to our servers — only which of your friends are already SSC members. If you’d rather not connect contacts at all, the plans still show up. You just won’t see the friend badges.
Why three
Three is the shortest list that still feels like a choice. Two is a coin flip. Four is a spreadsheet. A curator’s shortlist gets you moving before 8 p.m. instead of losing you to the algorithm at 9:15 when everything’s already started.
If tonight’s three aren’t right for tonight, you save one to your Later feed and it re-surfaces when it recurs. The saved list is yours. It doesn’t reset when your subscription lapses. It doesn’t get sold to a data broker. It doesn’t get renamed “premium experiences” by an acquirer next year.

Dallas-first. The curator lives in Uptown, and every Tonight pick names a specific DFW neighborhood — Deep Ellum, Lower Greenville, Bishop Arts, Design District, Fort Worth Cultural District, Katy Trail, Trinity Groves. We’re not a coastal app pretending to know Dallas.
How is this different from Eventbrite, Partiful, or Fever?
Partiful is for parties your friends throw. Eventbrite is a ticket store. Fever is Van Gogh in lights, everywhere. SSC is the three things worth doing tonight in Dallas, and who’s already going.
Do I have to pay to see who’s going?

What time does the Tonight feed update?
4 p.m. Central, every weekday. Weekend Tonight picks refresh Saturday and Sunday around noon.
What if none of tonight’s three are for me?
